The inaugural release of estate wines marks a new era for the revived Grange

The first full estate series from The Grange of Prince Edward since it’s rebirth has been released!

After a complete revamp that began in 2021, The Grange is now in its’ full circle vintage. While the barn and property still maintain its’ the original charm and beauty, the wines have taken on a new life. The Grange team began by embarking on vineyard health and the new plantings on the estate are now bearing fruit for their reintroduction to the Prince Edward County wine scene and the world!

Investment partners of Northfield Capital - Robert Cudney and Michael Leskovec (previously original silent partners) are now taking the reigns with a “sky is the limit” outlook. Their keen business sense and strong team at the winery including winemaker Jonas Newman, Sales and Events Manager Marlise Ponzo, and original vineyard manager Mike Peddlesden are truly bringing new life to the winery. The inaugural release of the full estate series are reflective of not just hard work and determination, but of a sense of place.

The Grange of Prince Edward 2023 ‘Estate Series’ Pinot Gris

This vivacious pinot gris comes from the Isabella Block and Northfield Block of The Grange estate. Highly aromatic with attractive aromas of fresh nectarine, mandarins, gardenia and a spritz of lime. A very generous palate presents as medium-bodied with a viscous and creamy mouthfeel. It’s bursting with juicy peaches and brilliant minerality. A nip of white pepper comes in on a long, flavourful finish. $25

The Grange of Prince Edward Estate Series Chardonnay 2023

This bottle represents the first harvest of Chardonnay cultivated from the Victoria Block on The Grange estate since the vineyard revival from the previous year. It begins by offering a bouquet that’s reminiscent of mixed wildflowers and lemons on a warm summer day.  True to the County terroir, as winemaker Jonas Newman intended, the palate has a mineral-driven heartbeat with energetic acidity that glides through notes of lemon, grapefruit, and pastry. A refreshingly zealous and crisp, everlasting finish.  $30

The Grange of Prince Edward Estate Series Cabernet Franc 2023

A Cabernet Franc derived from the Northfield Block of The Grange estate. Right out of the gate, this Cabernet Franc expresses exuberant aromas of spiced plums, blueberry compote and nutmeg – what a nose! Tactful oak integration gently supports a ripe yet delicate profile of fine tannins, dark cherry and blackberry flavours that are lifted with a lively, mouthwatering acidity. Extremely food friendly and would make the perfect dinner accompaniment. $32

The Grange of Prince Edward Estate Pinot Noir 2023

This Pinot Noir hails from the Diana Block of The Grange’s estate nestled in Hillier, Ontario. It opens with that rustic and wild County Pinot charm as it entails sour cherry and wild raspberry coupled with violets and subtle earth aromas. A boistruous character with edgy acidity and pops of red cherry, beetroot, and cedar elements tied together with slight, yet firm tannins. There’s a mineral heartbeat here that proudly boasts sense of place. $32

The Grange of Prince Edward Estate Gamay 2023

Prince Edward County Gamay is making rapid headway and such is the case with this wine cultivated from the single Victoria Block on The Grange estate. A fresh, light-bodied red that offers an aromatic bouquet of baked strawberries, cranberries and cloves. The palate is appetizingly bright with a perfectly balanced profile of tart fruit and sweet spices that glide along a silky texture. Supporting minerality adds to this multi-layered Gamay and persists on a long finish. $26

The Grange of Prince Edward Aurelia Series Pinot Noir 2023

A pillar of the top-tier Aurelia Series from The Grange estate, this Pinot Noir offers an enthralling nose of goji berry, red cherries and sweetgrass, with reflections of a forest in autumn. It conveys a rustic palate with fine-grained tannins that outline dried cranberries and black tea notes, with some tart cherry and cedar coming through on a dry, persistent finish.

The Grange of Prince Edward Aurelia Series Chardonnay 2023

This Chardonnay is a part of the Aurelia Series, The Grange’s top-tier wine category that is crafted using carefully selected grapes from specific vineyard lots and receives oak treatment from prime barrels in the winemaking process. A stylish wine that conveys floral, honeycomb, butter and apple aromas that are amplified on a creamy, pristine palate. Gorgeous mineral texture and ripe acidity are the backbone here that flow on an energy that rides straight through to a long finish.


From the Farmer’s series, the County Chardonnay and County Pinot Noir are still in LCBO and do not sleep on these wines that offer that County character at a great price!

The Grange of Prince Edward 2023 ‘Farmer’s Series’ County Chardonnay

A Prince Edward County chardonnay that has nothing to hide as it boasts inviting aromas of candied banana, lemon peel, and hazelnut on the nose. The palate is warm and immediately wraps you in an embrace of apple sauce, sweet oak and baking spices that are woven in a luxuriously soft texture, all of which persist on a satisfying and lengthy finish. This is a full-bodied chardonnay that’s elegantly streamlined by classic County acidity. $35.20

The Grange of Prince Edward 2023 ‘Farmer’s Series’ County Pinot Noir

A seductive nose that’s a true testament to County pinot noir with its flowery aromas partnering with ripe and sour cherry, dried cranberries and cola. Light and ethereal, and a little bit edgy in style, but not lacking complexity with fine-boned tannins and a lively acid structure that supports bright red fruit and savoury earthy nuances on a long finish.
