This is the first certified organic vintage for the Versado Reserva line by Canadian winemaker’s Ann Sperling and Peter Gamble that simultaneously aligned with a generously warm growing season for early harvest. The Malbec underwent wild fermentation and spent 24 months in French oak. Upon approach, intriguing aromas that suggest dark earth, fig and blackberry grasps one’s attention with their curiously complex and almost enigmatic disposition. The palate is strong, refined and poised with chewy, ripe tannins that embrace black fruit and cocoa on a long finish. The balance and tension of this wine make it a true showstopper.
