Riedel Veloce: What’s in a glass?

Are the glasses we use really that important to a wine taster? Yes! For us wine professionals, or even avid tasters, the quality of the glass is essential! A proper glass will lift your experience of the wine by showcasing the important aspects of aromas, flavours, and structure to provide optimum tasting conditions. Beyond that, a well-designed glass will allow any wine lover a more enjoyable wine moment by adding a sense of elegance, comfort, and chicness when used.

Two Riedel Veloce wine glasses

The Reidel Veloce collection has been scientifically designed and developed in a sensory workshop for varietal specific enjoyment. The architecture of these glasses have been studied carefully, and are produced by glass company Riedel in Weiden, Germany to provide the optimum vessel and experience for wine tasting by enhancing aromas and flavours of specific grape varieties.

At Riedel, they research the size and the shape of the glass for each grape variety to optimize the entire tasting experience.

The Veloce line offers fine, light crystal glass that is machine blown using the world’s most sophisticated glass blowing machines to create the finest glasses that bring elegance along with functionality. There are 9 varietal specific glasses (all dishwasher safe!) in the Veloce collection. They are Cabernet Sauvignon, Riesling, Syrah, Pinot Noir/Nebbiolo, Sauvignon Blanc, Rose, Chardonnay, Champagne, and even a water glass!

Upgrade your wine time by getting yourself a Riedel Veloce glass, or better yet, a whole set!
